The Fisherfolk. This is how they are often called in the development context. They live by the sea, and by the sea they make their livelihood. The same stretch of beach, the same daily rituals, the same fish, for generations.

This is a Fisherfolk hamlet in Gopalpur, Orissa, one morning in May, after the catch.
